Completion Rites
BNHS CAPS 2022 GRADUATES The past two school years have been quite challenging for teachers and students since it was an unconventional way of teaching and learning. Amid the challenges and changes, Bantayan National High School (BNHS) hosted its 5th Graduation Rites last June 30, 2022 at Bantayan National High School grounds with the theme “Graduaweyt ng K to 12: Masigasig sa mga Pangarap at Matatag sa Pagsubok.” Around 198 students graduated from the General Academic Strand and TVL Strand (Home Economics, Computer Systems Servicing, and Electrical Installation and Maintenance). to honor and inspire the graduates, Ms. Teresa B. Buasan, Schools Division Office Head in Curriculum Improvement of Tabaco City, gave a talk on why the graduates are considered as the most resilient and why they should be proud of themselves. A NEW NORMAL Following the new normal health protocols of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on CoViD-19 Management, BNHS held its first face-to-face graduation rites after the CoViD-19 pandemic. It can be noted that the pandemic has halted all face-to-face classes and contact and everyone had to move to a new modality. The Department of Education implemented the distance learning modality which adapted different learning modalities that will cater to the needs and abilities of students. However, it was not an easy school year not just for students but also the teaching and non-teaching personnel. Several students expressed their dismay towards modular learning since most do not understand some concepts in the self-learning materials. This prompted teachers to device different strategies to cater to the learning needs of students. FINALLY WORE THE GOWN AND CAP Since the pandemic struck in March of 2020, the completing class (Grade 10) of that time was not able to attend their completion ceremony. They are also the graduating class of 2022 and most of them rejoiced when they found out that they will be able to march on the stage, take their medals and certificates, and wear their academic gowns and caps. There were five students who graduated with high honors namely Jeremy B. Ceneta (12-Einstein, GAS), Ma. Jochell T. Ceneta (12-Zuckerberg, CSS), Rodolfo B. Ceneta (12-Zuckerberg, CSS) Jessa Mae B. Dacuya (12-Dewey, H.E), and Jane B. Janoras (12-Einstein, GAS). Moreover, 28 students graduated with honors. Most of the parents also expressed their gratitude to the school and its administration and staff for doing their best to make the face-to-face graduate rites a reality. A COLLECTIVE EFFORT According to Mr. Alvin C. Borromeo, Principal II of BNHS, the event was a collective effort which was made possible by different committees and it took them weeks of preparation to be able to give the best outcome for the graduation. “I feel happy and proud that every faculty and staff of Bantayan National High School is helpful and does his or her dedicated task. I did not have to monitor everyone’s work for them to be great. This is the first face-to-face graduation that I attended as the school head of BNHS and I can say that indeed, BNHS faculty and staff are dedicated to their profession.” says Borromeo.
